Knee Pain

Patient Presentation
39 year old male presenting with acute knee pain from insidious onset. The pain is on the lateral border of the patellar tendon of the right knee. He has pain with walking and climbing stairs. There is pain with palpation at the tendon and with flexion/extension of the knee while in a supine position. He rated the pain before treatment at a 4 out of 10.
Prior Treatments
None.
Current Symptoms
Right knee pain along the lateral border of the patellar tendon.
Acupuncture 1, 2, 3

Right: Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian.
A2
Right: Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian.

Right: PC 3a three needles.

Initial Results
Instant pain relief after insertion of the needles.
Treatment Course
One treatment. This patient comes in for weekly acupuncture for stress relief and other chronic pain. His knee pain was completely relieved after one treatment and has not reoccurred for the subsequent two months.
